Technical Assistance

We provide technical assistance to clients wanting to start or expand a business, in addition to existing business owners in a variety of ways including:

• Basic counseling on steps to starting a business, bookkeeping, marketing, etc.

• Assisting clients with the Business Planning process including revenue and expense projections, and historical financial statement analysis.

• Path-finding on Government programs.

• Access to a variety of resource materials – satellite office of the Canada Manitoba Business Service Centre is located in our office.

• Access to PCensus statistics including population and consumer spending statistics, in addition to Small Business Profiles.

• Delivery Agent of Self Employment Program for Morden and Steinbach offices of Manitoba Employment & Training Services.

Financial Assistance

On average we work with approximately 140 new business clients each year.

On the lending side, Triple R provides loans and loan guarantees to clients wanting to start or expand a business. Our loan funds are not intended for clients who are able to get financing from conventional lenders, but as a supplementary source of lending to clients who have a potentially viable business idea. Our loan funds are tied to job creation and maintenance, so applications to maintain an existing business may be considered, if there are a significant number of jobs involved. Other than basic agriculture and real estate speculation all business sectors are eligible to apply.

Due to the fact that our loan funds are limited and at this point, we are not anticipating receiving additional funds from the federal government, a preferred approach is partnership lending with financial institutions and other programs. In the last few years, we have done partnership deals with approximately 10 different financial institutions, either through the loan guarantee route or "top-up financing" with a small term loan.
