Looking for something fun for the kids to do this summer?

The R Biz Camp/Camp Entrepreneur is a fun, week long camp aimed at teaching youth about business. Winner of the 2011 Minister's Award for Excellence and Innovation, the camp is focused on three main areas; to educate, experience and enjoy:

Educate:

The campers learn about being an entrepreneur through fun exercises and the special Camp workbooks. Everything from coming up with a great business idea, to promotion and finances, to first impressions, body language and attitude.

R Biz Camp/Camp Entrepreneur is a day camp that runs from 9:00 in the morning until 4:00 in the afternoon each day. The cost of the camp is only $100 per camper for the whole week. Payment can be made by cash or cheque. Information can be scanned and emailed or faxed to (204)746-2035 or mailed to Box 190, Morris Manitoba R0G 1K0.

Here are some comments from the kids and parents about what they liked at the camps...

The Kids

• The games and cash; The activities, the learning about stuff; How it was so fun; It was fun creating our product and then selling it; I liked the games and learning about stuff then making and selling products and going swimming; I liked everything
• Examples of some products sold : chainmaille bracelets, flowers in a cup, camper-written videogame, sock puppet kits, heavenly brownies, smoothies, caramel apples, duct tape wallets, cookies mix in sealer jars, greeting cards, whiteboard signs.

The Parents

• He made lots of new friends and came home with many stories every night. The idea was fun and the camp was unlike any other.
• I loved that it encourages him to sell a product. He continued to make and sell his product. He told me that he loved making money!
• She learned to talk to others and to sell her product. Well done...hope you have another.
